God sometimes takes us into troubled waters. Not to drown us but to cleanse us.

They say the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.

Your Life On A Grid

If you put your life on a grid…

Point A, where you are now … Let’s imagine your life sucks in every way imaginable. It could be health issues, finances, relationships or much much more.

Point B, where you want to be … You’re living your best life. A life that flows effortlessly with peace, happiness and abundance.

So how do you get from point A to point B?

Some people would say “Its simple. Just remove the items in your life that are holding you back.”

But let’s be honest. Is it that simple for everyone?

For some, life is, or at least appears to be, that simple. But only for some. Everything seems to go their way. Not many struggles, their life flows in an easy effortless way.

Good health, good wealth.

It’s as if they magically get what they need and want in life.

Do you know such a person?

The Privileged Few

Let’s call them the Privileged Few or PFs.

So, yes, for them life is a straight line from point A (what they need) to point B (what they desire). It seems to manifest quickly, effortlessly.

That is NOT how my life has gone, but I live with a PF.

Watching ‘easy’ in real time is tough.

Not even a protractor could chart my course in life.  It’s more of a spirograph.

Back and forth, up and down and around in circles.

So, a PF would look at me and say “I don’t know what your problem is?  Just do what you need to do to get where you want to be.”

Well, when you have a spirograph life you don’t know where to begin. Chipping away a little here, a little there and going nowhere.

It’s like a ship without a rudder.

Going where the current takes you basically means you have given up.

It’s an exhausting way to live getting nowhere.

You are definitely in troubled waters when you cannot see the lighthouse to guide your way.

Detaching from life is not the answer.

Build a Bridge Over Troubled Waters

When the waters are too rough, too murky, too deep to maneuver through the only answer would be… go high.

“We build too many walls and not enough bridges.”

– Isaac Newton

Build a bridge.

Not just any bridge.

Not a floating bridge.

Not a swinging bridge.

Not a wood bridge.

It would have to be a first-grade steel bridge that can withstand the highest, deepest, roughest waters.

Troubled Waters.

What are you made of?

Do you know?

How bad do you want a better life?

Resolve

Your resolve needs to be as strong as steel. No wiggle room.

“I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore,” kind of resolve.

The emotional/mental bridge you are going to build has to withstand the turbulence that surrounds you. And, it needs to be high enough so you have a perfect view of what’s going on in your life.

A clarity that is not possible when you are drowning.

This bridge will save your life or give you a better life.

It needs to be firmly planted in solid ground.

The pillars holding your bridge up are:

  • Your convictions.
  • Your plans.
  • Your dreams.
  • Your aspirations.

“It’s not in the stars to hold our destiny but in our selves”.

– William Shakespeare

A Firm Foundation

You must have a firm foundation of what you want or it will be a bridge to nowhere.

If you have ever walked across a swinging bridge, there is an uneasy feeling. You are unsure if you will even reach the end.

If you are at all hesitant of yourself and what you want, you will not reach where you want to go.

The journey is much more pleasurable on a firmly planted bridge.

Surround yourself only with people that will lift you higher.

Let the path of the bridge pave your way with like minded people. People that are grounded in their journey in life. People that will inspire you with their accomplishments.

“If you have no struggles, you will have no strength”

– Tim Fargo

I am meaning people that have been through the refiner’s fire and found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Well deserved gold.

Dream Big, Work Hard, Stay Focused and surround yourself with good people.

Heavenly Strength

There is nothing stronger than the cables that hold the struts of the bridge together. Without them the bridge would crumble.

There is also nothing more powerful than when you have faith in a higher power. A power that can move heaven and earth to help you find your way to happiness.

“You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it”.

– Ain Eineziz

That’s a commanding statement.

Believe It

“The pain you have been feeling cannot compare to the joy that is coming.”

– Romans 8:18

If this be true, and I believe it is, then the mess you are in is in your control to rise above.

Build your bridge with …

  • Faith,
  • Friends
  •  Fiery spirit

This cerebral bridge made of immovable steel will give you the right of passage above all that tests you.

“I am on your side when times get rough, and friends just can’t be found, like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down.”

– Paul Simon
